WelcomeI am a Lecturer in the School of Computing Instruction (SCI) at the College of Computing, Georgia Institute of Technology. I teach courses in software engineering and conduct research in computer science education and interactive computing. Prior to joining SCI, I served as instructor of record in the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE) at the University of Florida, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in human-centered computing and software development. I earned my Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing at the University of Florida under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Lok. I am Colombian and a Fulbright alumnus.
My research lies at the intersection of computer science education (CS Ed) and human-centered AI. In particular, it explores the role of hidden curricula in CS education, as well as how users perceive and interact with virtual humans (i.e., embodied conversational agents) designed to support student success and well-being in computing-related majors. I have also designed and evaluated interactive interfaces that promote programming learning in both pre-college and higher education contexts. This site showcases my academic and professional work as a researcher and educator. Here you will find my projects, publications, courses, service, and contact information. I invite you to explore, interact, and get in touch for further information. |
